Renewable means money

Article Abstract:

Kyoto protocol has proved to be a boon for European renewable-energy industry. The monetary benefits that renewable-energy and environmental regulations yield in European nations are stupendous. Consequently Australian investment banks and funds are trying to make hay while the sun shines by investing in European renewable energy ventures. However, such investments are not forthcoming for Australian renewable-energy industry because the country does not recognize the Kyoto protocol so similar returns on investment within Australia will not materialize.

The annual general meetings of many Australian biggest companies conducted in 2003 put forth the demand for corporate disclosure rules, which meant that companies had to provide more information about the payments to directors and executives, as well as about corporate performance.
