Simulation of Industrial Robot Systems

Article Abstract:

A computer-aided design system which is used for modeling and evaluating robot systems is described. The simulation software is called GRASP. It allows one to design robot work places, assess particular robots for a task, and show an animated version of the robot in operation. Some of the modeling applications it is suitable for are: (1) spot welding, (2) handling operations, (3) safety evaluations, and (4) simulating a flexible manufacuring system (FMS). GRASP is a powerful tool for modeling in three dimensions and is being developed into an off-line programming tool.

Marketing strategies and market prospects for environmentally-friendly consumer products

Article Abstract:

The promotion of environmentally friendly products tends to focus on consumers, rather than distributors, and has proved to be ineffective and uneven. There was initially a demand from consumers for such products, and legislation also played a part, which resulted in manufacturers developing new products and new markets being created. The performance of products has been the determining factor in choice of products, and firms have tended not to promote all products equally, but depended on brand positioning.
