Tactical implementation and Murphy's law: Factors affecting the severity of problems

Article Abstract:

The effective implementation of tactical initiatives depends on the ability of managers to anticipate and minimize problems during execution and tactical implementation can be used as a problem-sensing task to anticipate and respond to implementation problems. The results show that the severity of problems encountered during implementation increases due to higher levels of time pressure, affective conflict among implementers, and project novelty and it is also found that the adverse effects of time pressure of implementation problem severity could be largely offset by the use of more detailed implementation plans.

American's choice of domestic over foreign products: a matter of helping behavior?

Article Abstract:

A model of helping behavior based on seven antecedent behavioral constructs was proposed to illustrate Americans' preference for domestic products. The model shows that Americans' consumption of domestic goods over foreign products primarily signifies support for American workers who are threatened by foreign products. It validates the notion that establishes a link between the behavioral constructs of a social nature and the selection of domestic against foreign products in the marketplace.
