Testing prospect theory in a deterministic multiple criteria decision-making environment

Article Abstract:

Prospect theory, following Kahneman and Tversky, is examined through experiments on decision-making. Management students at the University of Jyvaskyla, Finland took part in exercises in pairwise preference comparisons in reference to a designated alternative. Prospect theory has been cast as a useful approach to predicting behavior that violates axioms of rationality, and as an alternative to utility/value theory. Prospect theory application was found to be more consonent with experiment results than the traditional value model.

A multiple objective embedded network model for human resource planning and an implementation of the Tchebycheff method

Article Abstract:

A multiple objective embedded network (MOEN) framework for modeling manpower planning problems such as training program design, executive succession and employee benefits planning is introduced. Subsequently, the MOEN model is used as a basis to implement the Tchebycheff Method, a weighting vector space reduction technique for solving multiple objective programming problems, using the computer program NETSIDE.

Coordinating service - sensitive demand and capacity by adaptive decision making: an application of case - based decision theory

Article Abstract:

A study about the impact of capacity and price over demand is examined as it is observed that several aspects of service level depend on capacity. In other words, simultaneous choice of product price and manufacturing capacity exists if demand is stochastic and service-level sensitive. The results of the study are analyzed.
