Optical disk storage devices and computer output microfilm devices will assist in the technological development of the records management field. Paper storage will continue to be a part of records management procedures for some time even with the advent of these new technologies.

Office managers should plan ahead to guarantee an adequate supply of paper. At this time, paper is in short supply for various reasons. Some sources are claiming better economic times, others believe it is the increase in sales of plain paper copiers.
