Retailers' adoption decision of new consumer durables

Article Abstract:

A study investigated the factors that affect new product adoption decisions of consumer durable retailers by analyzing the relative significance of 26 adoption criteria across seven product categories among 292 consumer durables retailers. Findings indicate that new product adoption decisions by retailers are a multidimensional construct rather than a simple outcome of product or retailer-related factors. Product, manufacturer, strategy and retailer-related factors collectively appear to influence retailers' adoption decision.
