The importance of a common project management method in the corporate environment

Article Abstract:

Ericsson's creation of a common project management method, called PROPS, proves to be effective in the promotion of company productivity. The method serves as an overall concept for project undertaking. PROPS is directed towards people involved in production, ranging from project managers to process owners. The implementation of PROPS lessened lead time, time to market and time to customer. It also led to the separation of project steering and product provisioning process.

The article examines the different barriers and opportunities in managing design within complex projects, using two case studies of capital goods production projects. Factors influencing design management include service provision, equipment, and contracting, and how these factors are negotiated.

Article Abstract:

Coaching interventions are found to benefit team performance from both a climate and creativity perspective and an efficiency perspective. Findings are drawn from an eight-month coaching session for international pharmaceutical research and development project teams.
