The outlook for United States corporate earnings

Article Abstract:

A 1.8% increase in US corporate earnings in 1998 was suggested by the December survey conducted by the Institutional Brokers Estimate System. Based on the responses gathered from 3,400 security analysts affiliated with institutional equity research firms, the study found that strong consumer demand will be felt in 1998, and because of this, the chances of a recenssion is minimized. The highest earnings growth in 1999 is expected to come from the technology sector.
