Trade deficit contracted in August

Article Abstract:

The Commerce Dept reported that the trade deficit fell from $11.19 billion in Jul 1995, to $8.82 billion in Aug 1995. It was the lowest gap recorded in 1995. US exports of aircraft, automotive and computer items led to the decrease. However, officials are concerned about a growing gap with China.

Economy: trade deficit shrank in October 1995

Article Abstract:

The trade deficit fell from $8.25 billion in Sep 1995 to $8.04 billion in Oct 1995. Analysts believe the continuing decline of the trade deficit is not significant because of economic conditions in Western Europe and a widening gap with China, Mexico and Japan.
