United Nations: 50th General Assembly opens

Article Abstract:

The 185 member-nations of the UN sent delegates to NYC for the 50th opening on Sep 19, 1995. Among those addressing the opening was US Sec of State Warren Christopher. The Sec Gen Boutros Boutros-Ghali warned that the UN's finances were unstable because of non-payment of dues by members.

The initial public session of the Task Force on National Health Care Reform was held on Mar 29, 1993, under the direction of VP Albert Gore, Jr. The objective was to solicit opinions from the participants on the Clinton Administration's health-care package.
