Article Abstract:

The Australian real estate industry has seen an increase in the number of real estate investment trusts do to the greater incidence of institutional ownership. A report by the Property Council of Australia reveals the future trends of the commercial real estate market. The major change will be that the importance of infrastructure will be diminished by the importance of information technology, with the result that real property assets will diminish in importance.

P&O Services hops into a new opportunity: facilities management

P and O Services is capitalizing on the move towards the outsourcing of real estate management in Australia. Australian federal and state governments have outsourced real estate management services, and ANZ Banking Groups plans to outsource real estate management services worth A$300 million. P and O Services has become one of the major firms in the market since it acquired part of a contract to Western Australian Government's property in 1995.
