A Tar Heel tussle

Article Abstract:

Senator Lauch Faircloth is seeking to be re-elected in North Carolina and is seeking to present himself as a moderate, despite a conservative voting record. There are two political ideologies in North Carolina, religious conservatism and liberal progressivism. The electorate is divided between these two camps with some 20% wavering between them. The small businesses and banks of the state back Faircloth. The Democratic candidate is John Edwards who has less wealth behind his campaign.
