A black hole in the sky

Article Abstract:

The International Space Station is to be pieced together at around 400km high above the earth. The project symbolises international cooperation and includes Russia among the participants. The completion date has suffered delays and the ability of Russia to contribute has diminished due to Russia's economic problems. There are doubts as to how much the project will contribute to research, and much of the work to be carried out on the space station could be carried out on earth more cheaply.
