Australian dollar may climb

Article Abstract:

The Australian dollar is expected to increase steadily after a series of fluctuations. It rose from 73.05 US cents in Jan. 1996 to 82.14 US cents on Dec. 2, 1996 before dropping at 79.59 US cents in Dec. 20, 1996 in Sydney. Observers predict that the Australian dollar will increase to 80 US cents within a few months before reaching 82 US cents in Dec. 1997. The currency's continued rise is attributed to low inflation and increase in worldwide commodity prices.
