A two-echelon allocation model and the value of information under correlated forecasts and demands

Article Abstract:

A model for the stock allocation problem in a two-echelon distribution system consisting of a depot and several retailers was analyzed to determine the effects of information obtained by forecasts. Analysis of the two-echelon allocation model under a general demand structure indicated significant contribution of information obtained through forecasts in reducing the total system-wide inventory positions. Furthermore, a depot-retailer system was developed to monitor forecast state.

Integrated multi-item production-inventory systems

Article Abstract:

A queueing and inventory model is employed to study the performance of an integrated multi-item production-inventory system with stochastic demands and capacitated production. The study is performed using both deterministic and exponential manufacturing times to evaluate the interaction between inventories, capacity utilization and randomness in a manufacturing environment. Analytical expressions for solving inventory and production problems are then derived from the results.

A fuzzy EOQ model with demand-dependent unit cost under limited storage capacity

Article Abstract:

A single item inventory model with demand-dependent unit price and variable setup cost under storage constraint was analyzed based on a fuzzy economic order quantity (EOQ) model. The EOQ model for real life inventory problems involving single and multi-items in a fuzzy environment was developed based on fuzzy nonlinear programming and fuzzy geometric programming methods. Furthermore, a sensitivity analysis of the model was developed based on fuzzy formulation.
