DENMARK: EXPORTS OF ORGANIC DAIRY PRODUCTS

Article Abstract:

Germany and the UK are considered being important potential markets for Danish exports of organic cheese and butter. A report made by Mejeriforeningen, the trade organization of Danish dairies, and Okologisk Landscenter, the Danish center of organic development, shows that consumers in both Germany and the UK have a positive attitude towards organic foods, even though they are somewhat reluctant to imports of such products. The annual production of organic milk in Denmark totals 360mn litres, and only about 50% are sold on the domestic market.
