AUSTRIA: BUSINESS PUBLISHER GOING MULTIMEDIA

Article Abstract:

The Austrian company publisher Wirtschafts-Printmedien GmbH, publisher of WirtschaftsBlatt , Option, New Business and a number of specialist journals, has changed its name and legal form into ET Multimedia AG and is to concentrate on multimedia services. By year 2003 ET Multimedia AG aims to raise turnover from just over Sch 400mn to Sch 1bn and reach a double-digit profit ratio. In 2000 turnover from internet activities is to be raised to a three-digit million amount, up from Sch 20mn in 1999. ET Multimedia, which is owned 36% by the management, 25.01% by Unternehmens Invest AG (UIAG), 22% by Radda & Dressler Media and 15% by the Imperial group, has earmarked Sch 100mn for expansion. Beside Austria, Germany and Switzerland, the company is to expand in neighbouring east European countries. Bonnier of Sweden will remain the Austrian company's partner. Rather than operating an internet portal, ET Multimedia AG is to specialise as a content provider. It has already signed about 20 such contracts worth between Sch 100,000 and Sch 10mn.

France: Telerama archives accessible via payment

Article Abstract:

Telerama presented a new version of its Internet site which reported 1.3mn consultations in September 2001. The French weekly magazine dedicated to TV and culture will market cultural goods in partnership with Fnac.com and get commissions from Ticketclic by selling show tickets via its Internet site, telerama.fr. Since the end of October, Telerama also made available its archives (20,000 articles), a pay service though subscribers will get much lower prices according to site manager, Gerard Pangon.

AUSTRIA: NEW ECONOMY TITLE BY RADDA & DRESSLER

Radda & Dressler Verlag, the publisher of Wirtschaftsblatt, is launching a new monthly business magazine titled Net@Bizz on 16 June 2000. The magazine with 100 pages has an edition of 110,000 copies. It costs Sch 38.
