Article Abstract:

Contrary to plans announced in 1999, Telekom Austria (TA) and ORF will continue to cooperate in the Internet market. TA and Libro AG are to set up a new Internet company that will take over the activities of Libro's Lion.cc and of A-Online , a joint venture with ORF. TA would like to include also another partner from the printed or electronic media sector. TA wants the new company to be Austria's biggest Internet portal service for private individuals. In terms of visitors, A-Online is already the leading portal, ahead of Lion.cc.
