ROMANIA/SLOVAKIA: SCHENKER EXPANDS ACTIVITIES

Schenker, the international transport company, has opened two branches in Romania. The one in Vaslui serves traffic to and from Moldova and the one in Cluj transport within Romania. In Slovakia, Schenker has opened a branch in Kosice. Schenker employs about 1,100 staff in eastern Europe, Turkey and Greece.

Austria: Workers' Council recommends lorry toll

Article Abstract:

The Workers' Council in Austria has demanded that the country charge heavy goods vehicles (HGV) the same toll as Switzerland for driving on its roads in order to combat Austria's problems with transit vehicles. This would mean that driving through Austria would cost HGVs EUR 0.29 per kilometre.
