Subaru Austria GmbH has filed for bankruptcy. The company's liabilities exceed assets by Sch 104mn. Recently Subaru Austria gave notice of the contract on importing Subaru cars to Austria.

AUSTRIA: VEHICLE MARKET RECOVERS IN JULY 2001

Article Abstract:

In July 2001, new motor vehicle registrations in Austria were up 3% from a year earlier, at 35,476 units. The recovery follows a constant decline since August 2000. In the first seven months of 2001 registrations declined 4.6% to 255,144 vehicles.

AUSTRIA: FORSTINGER CREDITORS PARDON DEBTS

Creditors have agreed to a 40% composition of the Austrian Vienna-based car parts retailer and garage group Forstinger. Creditors are to be paid in instalments by June 2003.
