AUSTRIA: TELEPHONE DIRECTORY CONTRACT OKAYED

Article Abstract:

In a final ruling on the case that had been handled also by the European Court of Justice, the Austrian Contract Awards Commission has ruled that the contract placed by Telekom Austria for the printing of telephone directories in 1997 is valid. The contract had been placed with a joint venture of Telekom Austria and Herold Business Data without inviting offers from other potential bidders. It was established that Telekom Austria did not violate against EU rules on transparency and discrimination.
