The seventh annual adviser league tables issued by 'Privatisation International' have revealed record numbers of assignments by legal and financial advisory companies. The accountancy group was led by Coopers & Lybrand, followed by Price Waterhouse; while NM Rothschild led in investment banking, followed by Creditanstalt of Austria. The law sector was led by Freshfields, followed by Baker & McKenzie.

Ninth annual infrastructure league tables

Article Abstract:

Results of the ninth infrastructure advisory league table are analyzed. Deutsche Bank, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Schroders remained the top three financial advisors of privately financed infrastructure projects worldwide. Statistics are given for financial services, accountant services and law firms. Information is also divided by region and details about data collection and evaluation provided.

Project lawyers move on

Article Abstract:

Several partners of law firm Milbank have moved to rival Shearman and Stirling. Peripatetic project expert Kenneth MacRitchie, together with colleagues Stephen Peppiatt, Nicholas Buckworth and Cal Miller, will join S&S's existing team of U.S. partners. It is expected that the move will force other law companies to offer both U.S. and U.K. expertise.
