Turbomeca overhaul criticism

Article Abstract:

Turbomeca's decision to revise its engine overhaul criteria is penalizing low-time operators who bought Turbomeca-engined helicopters prior to 2000. In Jan 2000, the company introduced a 15 year condition in addition to the engine overhaul life previously set at 3000 hours. Owners claim that the warranty change has led to the de-valuing of helicopter with powerplants which have reached the 15 year limitation but have less than 3000 hours.
