Alcatel-Lucent posts loss, to cut more jobs

Alcatel-Lucent of France is planning 12,500 job cuts in total after a net profit loss of 618 million Euros ($805.8 million) compared with 381 million Euros last year. Revenue is down 16 percent to 4.42 billion Euros from 5.25 billion Euros last year. The telecommunications giant is integrating a recent merger and reported a combined profit-loss statement.

Another balky plane hurts EADS: Airbus A400M delays mean larger charge, scrapped profit forecast

Article Abstract:

European Aeronautic Defense and Space Co. announced a larger-than-anticipated charge of about 1.2 bil to 1.4 bil euro for the third quarter due to delays connected with Airbus S.A.S. engine development for its A400M aircraft. EADS shares dropped 3.8% following the announcement.
