Allergan will buy French firm that owns wrinkle treatment

American pharmaceutical company Allergan Inc. will acquire French company Groupe Corneal Laboratories, in order to gain control of Groupe Corneal's wrinke treatment, Juvederm . Allergan currently owns the U.S. rights to the product; the acquisition will give the company world-wide rights.

Ranbaxy buys generics maker from Romania

Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd. of India has acquired generic drug company Terapia S.P. of Romania for $324 million. The acquisition provides India's largest drug maker with access to European markets. The pharmaceutical industry is currently experiencing a wave of consolidations.
