Amid JetBlue's rapid ascent, CEO adopts big rivals' traits

JetBlue Airways Corp. of the United States is growing rapidly and turning a profit, with earnings of over $1 billion in annual earnings. Chief Executive Officer and founder David Neeleman has a streamlined approach to management and the airline is now the 10th largest by traffic in the United States. JetBlue Airways Corp. earned $19.5 million on revenue of $804.3 million in the first half of this year.

GE's bailouts of troubled carriers divide airline industry

GE Capital Aviation Services, a subsidiary of General Electric Co. has been bailing out troubled airlines which many have een as preventing much needed consolidation in the airlines industry in North America. GE Capital Aviation Services generated $3.2 billion in 2004, double the revenue of 1999.
