LVMH and Prada acquire controlling stake in Fendi

Article Abstract:

LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SA and Prada Holding BV have both acquired a controlling share in Fendi, a fashion house based in Italy. The transaction gives Fendi a value of at least $850 million (798 million euros). The acquisition represented the continuing consolidation of the luxury industry. LVMH and Prada are forming a jointy-controlled firm that will acquire a minimum of 51% of Fendi.
