Multi-objective design of team oriented assembly systems

Article Abstract:

A design methodology is presented for assembly systems based on teams, where each team is semi-autonomous with well-defined responsibilities. Team oriented objective systems meet new objectives of modern assembly systems and at the same time, they create a more satisfactory work environment.

An evolutionary heuristic for quadratic 0-1 programming

Article Abstract:

A study developed a heuristic approach for the unconstrained quadratic 0-1 programming problem that incorporates intensification algorithms used to improve solutions and accelerate the method. The approach is based on combining solutions in a genetic paradigm. It was extensively tested in a large set of computational experiments involving six different classes of problems up to 500 variables, and compared with powerful heuristic and exact algorithms from previously published research. Results affirm the efficacy of the approach in terms of solution quality and computing time.
