Andrex comes out of the closet: a case history

Article Abstract:

Andrex Toilet Tissue was very concerned to retain its strong brand awareness among consumers when it moved into new areas, such as facial tissues and moist toilet tissue. It was aware that it can be very hard to make the consumer aware that the brand in a new product form is on the market, and that certain aspects of the brand's heritage do not necessarily apply to new products. The company discovered that its core product, toilet tissue, still needed the same amount of advertising after new products were launched, as advertising the new product did not boost sales of the original product.

An ambassador comes to Tatra

Article Abstract:

Tatra (Koprivnice, Czech Republic), lorry manufacturer, sold a total of 1,632 vehicles in 2000. A total of 1,446 vehicles of the quantity were exported. The firm exported more than 600 complete and disassembled vehicles to India in 2000. Their assemblies are ensured by Tatra Udyog (India), 50:50 joint-venture of Tatra and Vectra Investment (India). The joint venture was set up in 1997. The volume of Tatra's supplies to India has been increasing since 1996. India's new ambassador to the Czech Republic Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar visited Tatra in Dec 2000.

Development comes first

Article Abstract:

An increasing number of South Koreans believe that the country's environmental impact assessment system is being abused to justify brisk property and industrial development despite impressive environmental laws and the growing number of projects reviewed by the Environment Ministry. The problem lies mainly in the ministry's lack of authority to take further action after being consulted.
