As Christians vanish from their cradle

Article Abstract:

The number of Christians has dropped to very low levels in parts of the Middle East as a result of emigration and declining birth rates. Lebanon, for example, was once the only Middle Eastern country with more Christians than Muslims, but many Christians have now left. Some observers attribute the decline in the number of Christians in the region to persecution by the Muslim majority, but in fact Middle Eastern governments generally treat Christians very well.
