Asia is turning to the market for new sources of funds

Article Abstract:

Drastic changes are expected of the Asian capital markets, especially as banks and other traditional sources of capital tighten their policies to protect their asset base. Companies in dire need of capital are expected to turn to the fickle bond market or venture capitalist to fund their expansion or operations needs, which will require them to be more careful in their investments. Gone are the days in Asia where capital can be secured on government guarantees, as many governments are opening up their markets to attract financiers.
