Asian investors aren't as conservative as you think

Article Abstract:

A survey of middle- and upper-income Asian consumers of financial services outside Japan was conducted to examine assumptions about their investment habits. The first assumption is that Asian consumers want personal interaction with their bankers. The second is that Asians are loyal to local banks. The third is that Asian consumers are conservative and are afraid to take debts. The fourth is that Asian consumers are unsophisticated. Results indicate that the assumptions are more myth than reality.

Giving India's investors a fair shake

Article Abstract:

Investors in India welcome the new Indian budget as it will help revitalize the economy. Moreover, a new mergers and acquisitions law will also have a huge effect on the economy by requiring numerous family- and conglomerate-regulated firms to more urgently consider interests of smaller shareholders. The new law will produce new inducements for managers which should allow an ample thrust to the Indian economy.
