Article Abstract:

Toronto FC's marketing strategy is discussed. In 2007, the soccer team sold out all 15 home games at BMO field despite its weak performance. According to Cesar Velasco, the team's manager of marketing, communications and community relations, he struggled in forming the team's marketing strategy before the start of the season in April 2007. The strategy also included the establishment of a connection with second-generation Canadians.

DDB, the first big agency network in Canada and spearheaded by Yvonne van Dinther, launched the first marketing communications agency in Canada that offers a unique social media catalyst. Radar was not warmly accepted by an elite group of agency socialites and bloggers.
