BANGLADESH: CONSTRUCTION OF GAS POWER STATIONS
Article Abstract:
BPDM has issued an invitation to tender for the construction of two gas-fired power station, which will total 200 megaWatts. One, to produce 80 megaWatts, is to be located at Tongi, and the other, to produce 120 megaWatts, will be located at Siddhirganj. A tender deposit of US$ 500,000 for the Tongi gas power station, and another of US $ 700,000 for the Siddhirganj power station is requested. The tender must be submitted on the 8th and 9th August 2000. The specifications sheet is to be ordered from the French Trade Commission at Dacca. BANGLADESH: MEMR ISSUES INVITATION TO TENDER

Bangladesh's Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has begun a consultation concerning technical assistance in the privatisation process of the 728 megawatt Ashuganj power station. This US$ 1.35mn contract will get US$ 1mn in bank financing. The document may be ordered from the CFCE (French Foreign Trade Centre) for FFr 100 BT. The Power Grid Company of Bangladesh has issued an invitation to tender for the supply, delivery, installation and start up of 230 kV electricity transmission lines between the towns of Ishurdi, Baghabari, Sirajganj, and Bogra.
