BT, MCI tightlipped over Concert marketing plans

Article Abstract:

British Telecommunication's acquisition of MCI Communications of the US, a long distance carrier, is unlikely to immediately effect their marketing structures. BT and MCI's new company, Concert Global Communications PLC will have annual revenues of $42 billion and will be the fourth largest telecoms company in the world. BT's main roster agencies are Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO and Butterfield Day Devito Hockney in the UK, and MCI's main agency is Messner, Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/Euro RSCG.

A model of the publication performance of marketing academics

Article Abstract:

Individual characteristics are the more important determinants of publication performance. The strong influence of doctoral training indicates that marketing departments would positively benefit from insisting on a PhD in recruiting new staff members, given that research is a key priority. Professional association involvement by the staff of marketing departments is likewise suggested.
