Ichoose.TV of U.K. hopes to launch an IPO

IchooseTV.com is hoping that it will be able to launch an initial public offering (IPO) by September 2000 on the Alternative Investment Market. The deal would give the company a value of approximately 40 million pounds (66.2 million euros).

CGNU operating profit gains 12%

CGNU PLC posted an increase of 12% in its operating profits for the 2001 first-quarter. The company posted 445 million pounds (713.9 million euros) in quarterly operating profits.

Bank of Scotland shares rise 4.3% on hopes Abbey makes a bid for it

Bank of Scotland's share value increased 4.3% on hopes that Abbey National PLC would make an acquisition offer for it. Abbey is reportedly planning to make a 15 billion pounds offer for Bank of Scotland.
