'Benchmarking' movement leaps to the next level: IBM and 13 others form group to set standards for business processes

Article Abstract:

The Open Standards Benchmarking Collaborative has been formed by 14 companies, consultants and government organizations with the intent to standardize and share performance benchmarks similar to the ways that software programmers share open-source code. Corporate participants include International Business Machines Corp., Shell Oil Co., the World Bank, and the United States Navy.

Kodak's loss widens as revenue declines 8.8 %

Article Abstract:

Eastman Kodak Co. of the United States posted an 8.8 percent slide in revenue to $3.36 billion. New loss of $282 million compared with the loss of $155 million last year. The photographic equipment giant is planning to outsource the manufacture of digital cameras, however digital cameras will still be marketed under the Kodak brand name.

Kodak sees more job cuts, higher restructuring costs
