Boeing likely won 2005 orders race

Article Abstract:

In the competition between aircraft manufacturers Boeing Co. and Airbus S.A.S., it looks like Boeing, having clocked 1,002 orders for new planes in 2005, may have won out over its comptetitor. Airbus is yet to report its totals for the year. Boeing's share price rose almost 40% over 2005 in, reflecting investor response to news of its sales.

Airbus S.A.S. of France is in a battle with Boeing Co. for market share in the passenger-jet market. The new A380 models are facing delays on delivery by up to six months due to complexities in wiring. The A380's are the world's largest double decker passenger jets.

Europe gets liftoff in helicopter sector
