Bringing architecture to life

Article Abstract:

Hayes Davidson, founded in the UK 1989 by Alan Davidson, is one of the leading advocates of digital architectural illustration. The technology the team uses to draw on computers allows high resolution images which include detail such as lighting, context and animation, giving a realistic impression. Work is published on CD-ROM which permits viewers to interact with the use of touch screens and the Internet. Alan Davidson claims architectural illustration should not be technology-led, it is only a means to an end.

Connecting the team

Article Abstract:

Computer networks are increasingly important for business communications and should be a fundamental consideration for architectural design. Wide area networks (WANs) using optical fibre communications cable are increasingly popular because they are faster and performant. WANs are available via dedicated lease lines such as British Telecommunication PLC's Kilostream product, dial-up ISDN links or communications modems.
