British Air, rivals urge BAA breakup

Article Abstract:

British airlines are encouraging the break up of BAA PLC of the United Kingdom in an investigation by British authorities into the handling of the recent airlines bomb scare in London. The airport operator was ill equipped to handle increased security procedures leading to a snafu at United Kingdom airports. Hundreds of flights were either delayed or canceled in a tangle that lasted for several days.

Ferrovial's BAA faces U.K. antitrust inquiry

Article Abstract:

Grupo Ferrovial S.A. of Spain, the parent company of BAA PLC of the United Kingdom is under investigation for anti-trust law violations. The airport operator handles 90 percent of passenger business in Southeastern England and over 80 percent in Scotland. The investigation could force Grupo Ferrovial S.A. to divest some of its British airport interests.

Airbus seals US Airways order in big boost for A350 jetliner

Article Abstract:

Airbus S.A.S. has received orders for 339 planes on the first day of the Paris Air Show, valued at $45.7 bil. US Airways Inc. has ordered 60 A320s, 22 A350s, and 10 A330-200s; the order is worth approximately $8 bil at list prices.
