Businessmen fear effects of prolonged political gridlock

Article Abstract:

Business executives in Taiwan are afraid that political infighting will lead to more economic instability, and they have called on the government to end the bickering for the good of the economy. A lack of clear government policies on energy and economics, along with an increase in power blackouts, has caused some high-tech companies to build factories in more stable countries.

Taiwan reaches out to China

Article Abstract:

A committee of business leaders in Taiwan has recommended strengthening economic ties with mainland China and easing trade restrictions, and the government may implement the proposals soon. Taiwan's troubled economy is causing the island to turn toward its neighbor; however, China's actual response to the plan will determine its success.
