CBF/Mons : fermeture prochaine ?

Article Abstract:

According to unions, CBR might close down its grey cement plant of Mons/Obourg to concentrate its production in another two plants in Western Belgium, instead of three units today. The plant's facilities are obsolete while the demand is more concentrated on the north of Belgium. An expected investment to increase CBR's crushing capacity in Belgium would then be performed in Ghent, one of the other three units which CBR is operating in Western Belgium together with a third unit at Antoing. The final decision should come in the first half of September 1998.
