Checkpoint is set to make an offer for Meto in Europe

Article Abstract:

Checkpoint Systems Inc. is planning to purchase Meto AG for $265 million (247.4 million euros). Checkpoint is a provider of security systems to retailers. Under the terms of the offer, Checkpoint would assume responsibility for $35 million in debt. The deal would increase Checkpoint's size and strengthen its operations in Europe. Meto is a provider of security tags and "electronic article surveillance" systems for retailers.
