China knew of river taint

Article Abstract:

PetroChina Co. of China experienced an explosion that sent a huge slick of benzene and other toxic chemicals down the Songhua River. Chinese authorities knew about the environmental disaster for at least a week before informing the public, the media reported the explosion but did not mention the water pollution.
