DENMARK: AALBORG PORTLAND AN ACQUISITION OBJECT?

As a consequence of the French giant LaFarge's bid for the British cement producer Blue Circle, the Danish cement company Aalborg Portland will possibly become an acquisition object, the paper writes. Aalborg Portland's principal owner, the Danish group FLS Industries, has stated that Aalborg Portland is one of its four key businesses, but the on-going consolidation of the European cement industry might change this. Aalborg Portland Holding has a low market value, and it might be difficult for FLS Industries to refuse a generous bid, according to analysts.
