DENMARK: DANFOSS EXPECTED TO WIN MAJOR CONTRACT

Article Abstract:

Danfoss Plast & Presswork, based in Nordborg, Denmark, is likely to win a major contract for technical plastic for mobile phones. The total value of the contract is estimated at DKr20bn (US$2.7bn). The buyer is Flextronics and Siemens in Pandrup, northern Jutland. The company is to manufacture 33 million mobile phones in the next three years. The reason why the paper believes that Danfoss will win the contract is that the company is considered to be the only one capable of meeting with the supply requirements. Karl Aage Nielsen, buyer at Flextronics International in Pandrup, says the company has not yet decided which sub-contractors it is going to use but that it has not ruled out Danfoss.
