DENMARK: PARCEL POST ACTIVITIES TO BE SOLD OFF?

Article Abstract:

The Danish Conservative Party says the Government should sell off DSB's, the state-owned rail operator's, parcel post activities. The spokesman Kaj Ikast says private operators are better to handle parcel post than DSB, and what is more, profitability of DSB's cargo division is insufficient. In addition, a sell-off of the parcel post activities would release capital for investments in railway tracks, which is highly needed, says Kaj Ikast. Parcel post represents about 50% of DSB's cargo operations.
