DENMARK: EAC SELLS OFF PORT AREA

Article Abstract:

East Asian Company (EAC/OK) is selling off the former soya-bean cake plant area at Islands Brygge, the port of Copenhagen. The construction company NCC Denmark has acquired the rights to 35,000 sq. metres building areas, and the developer Sjaelso Gruppen another 30,000 sq. metres. In all, the area totals 200,000 sq. metres building rights. 50% will be commercial premises and 50% housing estate. EAC expected the sell-off period to total 10-15 years when the plan was launched in 1998, but thanks to the positive development of the economy, the first stage is likely to be finished within not more than two years.
