DENMARK: JOTIPAC FOR SALE

Article Abstract:

The Danish packaging group Jotipac is for sale. The group, which also includes the subsidiaries Tipac in Sweden and Joni Emballage in Belgium, is a supplier of plastic packaging, mainly to the food industry. In 1999, turnover totalled DKr 400mn (USD 54mn) and ordinary profit reached DKr 55mn. The group is owned by Danish VT Holding. According to analysts, a merger with the packaging activities of Superfos is a possible solution, thus a new Danish packaging group would be established.

DENMARK: GREAT INTEREST IN JOTIPAC

Article Abstract:

There are many potential buyers of the Danish packaging group Jotipac. Both Danish and foreign companies, in all six-seven companies, have shown their interest, according to the present owner VT Holding. Sources in the sector say a merger between Jotipac and Superfos Packaging would be the best solution, as their products are suited to each other and synergies can be achieved. The most likely buyer of foreign companies is expected to be the British group RPC.
