DENMARK: SPIRITS IMPORTER TARGETS NORDIC MARKET

Hans Just A/S, the Danish wine and spirits company, has doubled turnover in the 1990's. The company has expanded in Norway, where a joint venture has been formed with a Norwegian partner, in Sweden, where co-operation agreements have been signed with several agents, and in Finland, where a brand manager has been employed. Spirits account for 80% of the company's turnover, up from 60% ten years ago. Hans Just A/S is targetting the market through specific brands such as Jagermeister, Finsbury Gin, King George Whisky, Hansen Rum, Larsen Cognac and Sierra Tequila.

Denmark: Hans Just acquires Linie Aquavit

Article Abstract:

Hans Just, the Danish wine and spirits company, has together with a Norwegian consortium, taken over 66% of Arcus, the leading wine and spirits company in Norway, that has been 100% state-owned. Hans Just owns about a third of the Norwegian consortium. Arcus is best known for Linie Aquavit, and the annual production of Linie Aquavit totals some two million bottles.
